Q & A

What is your favorite quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." - Theodore Roosevelt

What was your favorite sport in middle school?
Gymnastics. I loved flipping around and seeing what crazy cool things the body can do.

Can you share your first sports bra experience?
I can't remember it exactly, but I was a late bloomer, so I think I probably got one more to fit in rather than actually needing it. Whatever it was, I'm sure I wore the same one years longer than I should have.

What is your absolute favorite piece of #flystyle and why?
The flyte shirts! They are an original fave that I still wear all the time. I have them in multiple colors and styles (long sleeve, tank) and wear them running and everywhere else. (And they are even great for pregnancy: comfortable and stretchable even over a 9 month bump!)

If you could give one piece of advice to a 12 year old girl, what would it be?
You are capable of so much more than you know. Don't pay attention to anyone who makes fun of you or your ambition. Be true to yourself, chase your dreams, enjoy the ride, and be kind to others who are doing the same!

Tell us about your favorite place you have ever traveled to:
I studied abroad in Australia and it was amazing. Snorkeling on the Great Barrier reef, hiking through the rainforest, seeing the Sydney opera house, attempting to surf: I would go back in a heartbeat!

What alternative career do you fantasize about?
Being a pro runner is definitely my fantasy career :)

What is your superpower?
I have an insatiable appetite and am undefeated in eating contests (burritos. pizza, ice cream) among friends. But just like my running, my strength is endurance (eating for as long as possible), not speed (I can't scarf 100 hotdogs in 1 minute or whatever those professional eaters do!).
