Q & A

Do you have a quote that guides, inspires, or embodies your training/racing/life?
"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." - C.S. Lewis

What was your favorite sport in middle school?
I loved soccer in middle school. The feeling of being part of a team that was not only fun but competitive and supportive was a real self-esteem booster for me.

Can you share your first sports bra experience?
This is a good question as I think I ran and played sports for many years without a proper sports bra purely as I didn’t know any better. I bought my first sports bra in university and it was seriously life changing. Wearing a supportive, comfortable spots bra instead of a regular bra to do sports was a game changer for me.

What is your absolutely favorite piece of #flystyle and why?
If I had to pick one it would be the Aero tight. I love the sleek fit as well as it’s versatility. This tight is not only perfect to run in but transitions easily to a casual day piece when paired with a casual tank or tee, or can also be worn out with boots and a sweater or dressier top. It fulfills all my tights needs :)

If you could give one piece of advice to a 12 year old girl, what would it be?
You have so much time so don’t rush things, enjoy the journey and remember to be true to yourself. You will learn so much if you stay open and honest.

Tell us about your favorite place you have ever traveled to:
Australia. I lived there for a year and fell in love with the climate and the people. The beaches are beautiful, the outback is breathtaking and the rainforests are so vibrant. Australians seem to live life full of happiness and energy. They also put on great running events. Although I wasn’t a competitive runner when I lived there I had the opportunity to participate in the “City to Surf” run, which is a huge run from downtown Sydney out to Bondi Beach. Upwards of 80000 people participate and the whole course is lined with people out cheering, hosing you down or BBQ’ing. The running community was fantastic. I almost didn’t come home after that trip as I loved Australia so much.

What alternative career do you fantasize about?
I love where I am at now but when I fantasize about another career it would have been to start professional running earlier and to have seen where I could take it. No regrets but I sometimes wonder…

What is your superpower?
Compassion. People love to tell me their stories and I love to listen.
